# Become a Hero Host
You can become a Hero host by deploying Mycelium nodes and/or routers.
- As a host, you connect the router(s) and/or node(s) to internet and get rewards for providing compute, AI and network capacity. By doing this, you are helping your community to provide capacity to the network.
## Income for the Hosts
Our aim is to have millions of routers and nodes in the field. Via our Network Map, we will map where cells displaying information on the the necessity to deploy more routers and/or nodes.
The cells will show urgency via its colorzied code.
- Green (enough nodes, no rewards)
- Yellow (can use some extra nodes)
- Red (let's do it, this region needs help)
For red cells the reward is the highest.
## A Whole Ecosystem
We are also hosting on other networks like ThreeFold which is using the same underlying tech. This means that the ThreeFold Grid and the Mycelium network can co-exist and build on each other.
## How to Become a Host
Becoming a Mycelium host is highly accessible.
- Buy a *NODE (Compute/Storage node) or a *ROUTER (Mycelium Network Node).
- Connect it to the Internet
- Become part of a Hosting Pool
## Hosting Rewards
Typically a host can earn the investment of their node back 2 to 5 times over 5 years if successful. This is not a financial advice and we recommend anyone to do their own research before proceeding in any project of the sort.
## Hosting Pool
A Hosting pool takes care of many things.
- Marketing the capacity and capabilities
- Giving support to the userbase (developers)
- Managing the best possible pricing
- Monitor all nodes, routers and optimize uptime
- Monitor available bandwidth and make optimizations where possible.
If a host uses a Hosting Pool, they will have to give a part of their reward to the hosting pool. Each hosting pool can decide how much that needs to be and hosts will be invited to select the hosting pool that most fits their needs.
