+# HET Land
+
+The total habitable land area in the world is estimated to be around 64 million square kilometers (km²), which is roughly 43% of the Earth's total land surface area of about 149 million km².

+Total surface area: approximately 510 million km²
+- Water surface area (oceans, seas, and lakes): about 361 million km² (71%)
+- Land surface area: about 149 million km² (29%)
+
+Habitable land area: around 64 million km² (43% of land surface area, or 12.5% of the total surface area)
+
+To calculate the average global population density, we divide the total world population by the total habitable land area:
